Only two people besides the Folding Five showed up for Seminar Set-Up this evening. That was somewhat of a shock and a disappointment at first, but it turned out to be actually pretty ideal. Since the carpet is getting cleaned tomorrow morning, we can't really finish Set-Up until tomorrow afternoon; therefore, the work that needed to be done this evening was exclusively kitchen work, prepping finger foods and the breakfast items for Saturday. No problem! By the time we left I was convinced we had the exactly perfect correct number of helpers for this stage in the game. :)
Normally Jeremy wouldn't have gotten paid until Sunday, but since the treasurer was headed out of town (actually, the second back-up; all three treasurer-people are out of town for this week!!) he gave Jeremy his paycheck yesterday. That was nice. We are breathing again. And then guess what arrived in the mail today? Jeremy's September VA check, dated 9/14; I guess they reissued a check, instead of doing a direct deposit as they said they were going to do. ???!! What in the world....
N & J played outside today for h-o-u-r-s, and were very helpful during set-up. They read and Lego'd as well today and played with Jabba a bunch. N did another Draw-Write-Now.
Tomorrow is a big day and I doubt I'll post. Here is the day's expectations. Make a pie for potluck on Sunday. Prepare two Bible classes. Prep the house for over-night company (Cecil, Jeremy's/our new preacher/song leader friend from Sierra Vista, who will be happy to see Jabba again.). Go to the health food store - Yesssssssss!!!! My favorite place that I visit only once a month! :) Pick up the donated ice from McDonalds, and then join the crew at the building where Justus will nap while we-all finish setting up; tomorrow the shade tents go up in the parking lot. The party begins at 6pm, and then we're up again bright-and-early on Saturday to get breakfast out on the table for everyone by 7:30. [Who thinks up schedules like this anyway???]
