Summer '11 Misc.

I took two whole pictures of the amazing VBS in July. First, in the 3rd & 4th Grade class, Amy B. painted the kids' faces as lions, in honor of the Daniel & the Lions' Den evening. (Theme was "Return of the Exiles". One night Handwriting on the Wall, one night Lions' Den, and two nights for Esther.) The lion face was Justy's favorite part of the whole VBS. :)

Here's a shot of the Daniel play. Elaine gets loud applause from me for the hard work she did working on the team that built the set.
Tomatoes & marigolds are so pretty together. :) (Haha, wrong date on this pic!! It was taken in June!)
For my birthday Mom gifted me her old sewing machine, which I've already blogged about. I have used it many times between that blog and this, but took the following pictures to document and share about Natasha's first sewing lesson in years. I decided to use this fabric that was gifted to us to make arm rest covers for two Freecycle chairs we have been using daily for the last year+.

Ha, date is also wrong on this pic. Natasha making a successful pie crust!
New friends of ours, Jeff & Courtney, invited us to their son Jaren's 3rd birthday party. She is on the blanket there, with Jaren & Rowan, both.
Here, Jeff is bringing the cake with lighted candle!
Remember how we had Justy's ears tested to make sure it was laziness that was causing him to speak with mush-mouth? The results were that his hearing is better than all the rest of ours? His ears are, truly, very sensitive, and this new, wonderful vacuum ($60 @ Target!!) is ... very.loud. When he vacuums, Justus uses the hearing protection we bought for shooting practice.
Helping in the kitchen!
Justus and Jeremy grilled together one pleasant afternoon. There was one time period where they had a couple minutes' break, but needed to still be outside, so each grabbed his hand-held video game! HHHHHHa!!
Uggh, the date is so wrong!! These pics were taken in June when Aunt Judy and Cousin Karen were able to stop in for a quick visit on a trip they were taking!! Karen's daughter Ashley has three children; the twins are her youngest. They were ssssso fun to get to know a little! Judy is now one of the FFFFEW survivors of pancreatic cancer!! Hair's growing back, and all!

Anniversary flowers from my sweet husbannnd!!!!!!!

Wow on Judy! Good work on making sure Natasha and Justus get an education.
