Easton is doing maybe a little better!

The doctors decided to continue dialysis on Easton today, but at a more regulated rate; it is helping. His circulation is better, and it was overall a good day of improvement. Stacy's parents are here now. We got to have a little time with them tonight (Saturday) at the hospital. [When you think of Stacy's dad, think of my dad (small-town TX native, same generation, married a northerner. Stacy's dad is extremely active in politics, active in the church ... they are ssso similar ... except Stacy's dad has a bit more of an 'edge' to him, so he's more like Jeremy in that way. Jeremy talked with him tonight a ton about guns! :) Stacy's mom is a relatively quiet, mellow elementary school teacher.]

Stacy took Jeremy and me into Easton's room. -wow- THAT is something to behold. PICU, of course Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, reminded me a lot of the NICU we were in with Audrey, except in the PICU each patient has his/her own room. The display screen tracking all his monitors has seven measures it tracks every second. There are about fifteen different medications he's on, and each intake tube is lined up & snapped onto a hard plastic piece that holds everything in place, a diagonally-'locked-in' syringe for each tube. Each tube, each different medicine, has its own monitor, four moniters per wheeled stand. The latest new medication he's on is a diuretic, another effort to make his body release fluids. As of 7:00 p.m. tonight he still had another 1,000 ccs of fluid to release. 1 oz. = 30 ccs. It's amazing his little body can possibly hold that much fluid. Sheesh.

Jared & Stacy are allowed to touch him (one arm and the opposite foot aren't otherwise occupied), but it is always encouraged that when they do touch him they watch those numbers to make sure he doesn't react adversely. His chest scar goes from about an inch below his clavical nearly to his belly button, and another, perpendicular, scar about three inches long is on his abdomen where the dialysis equipment is.

Natasha & Justus played with Enoch, and Chase was (no surprise) attached to his grandma at almost all possible moments. :) Jared & Stacy, and Stacy's folks who drove all night last night to get here from PA, all need good sleep tonight, and, Lord willing, some relatively restful, positive times in the coming days. We have many things about which to be praying. Thank you for joining us. :)
