Wednesday's spare minutes were spent working in the children's room. They are managing **alright** with the 'stuff situation' [Read: leftover issues from combining two children's rooms into one room], but ... let's just say it's NOT organized well, yet, and three boxes were still not unpacked. Well, okay, they were 'unpacked', but it was what was left of stuff they didn't need 'right now' -- that still needed homes. It is going to take a number of hours over the next week to get their room in working order.
Thursday was busy. Piano lesson and two errands in the a.m. After Jeremy got home I ran three errands in the afternoon. In the evening we worked in the children's room some more. MAN, it is HARD to get N going on it. Thankfully, once she can SEE the progress, she is ssssssso grateful for the help -- and expresses it liberally. As you can see, my challenge is to keep her going with cleaning up a little at a time, so she can appreciate that it's not ***SUCH*** a huge job, and that life really is better and easier when the tasks are taken care of a little at a time.
Yesterday was not *really* a FFFFFDay, although of course we did enjoy being out together.... We had some more errands to take care of, which took almost all of the day, actually. One of those errands was to pick up another loaned vehicle; aren't we spoiled??? Mike & Ann invited us to use their Honda 5-speed for these two weeks while they're at camp!!!! (Ssssssssso thankful.)
Our hearts are HEAVY-heavy because of the death, early Friday morning, of an 18yo recent high school graduate in the church. His dad died of stomach cancer only a year and a half ago, and it's a complicated, heartbreaking situation (about which I won't post details for the whole world's eyes). I cooked late into the night in order to have a soup-and-salad meal ready to take with us this morning when I accompanied Jeremy to Judy's this morning to sit with her and plan the memorial service ... which will be Mon. After such a burdensome morning, the rest of today turned into a 'work day' for Jeremy (He needs the quiet/recovery/grieving/preparing time in the office.), due to the situation and the d-i-f-f-i-c-u-l-t Sunday we face because of it. The children and I worked around the house, catching up and preparing....
